WKF Karate
The World Karate Federation (WKF) is the world’s largest international sport-karate organization, with over 10 million members in 199 countries. Competitions are held in both kumite and kata across all age groups. The WKF Karate World Championships are staged every two years, a tradition dating back to the first championship in Tokyo in 1970.
WKF recognizes four major karate styles: Gōjū-ryū, Shitō-ryū, Shotokan and Wadō-ryū.
WKF Karate was featured at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.
